About this role
Do you find purpose in working on iconic projects? Due to increased opportunities, Arup is currently seeking a Structural Drafter within our Buildings group to help deliver high quality Building Information Modelling (BIM) models, data and documentation.
Securing an opportunity in this diverse team will ensure you have a rewarding and secure career pathway well into the future. With an exciting pipeline of projects, Arup have a fantastic opportunity for a Structural Drafter to join the Buildings team based in Sydney.
As you develop experience in structural engineering drafting and design you will become a key member of team working collaboratively with Arup specialists and clients to deliver efficient and sustainable projects.

What will I do?
  • Be responsible for undertaking engineering/design/drafting tasks in order to meet client requirements for the documentation of various structural design projects including hospitals, schools, hotels and various other social infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare professional reports/technical documents recording/summarising designs.
  • Maintain own professional skill set in line with market/industry standards through training and knowledge building exercises both as provided by Arup and pursued independently.
  • Use a combination of standard and modified design and drafting methods/techniques in order to solve problems including the use of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD), modelling and analysis software.
  • Provide progress information to supervisors and colleagues to allow accurate reporting of progress.
What will I bring?
  • Knowledge or awareness of a range of other modelling and coordination programs, (ACAD, Rhino, BIM360, Revizto, Navisworks etc)
  • Desire to excel and widen experience in Structural engineering skills & programming (C++, Java (J2EE), XML, Python) etc.
  • Strive to remain positively motivated and foster team spirit at times of significant pressure, including assisting others to meet deadlines
  • Reinforced concrete and steel experience on any type of project
  • Have ability to relate and work well with people at all levels within the team and within the wider office, as well as externally with clients.
